How can I get involved with WUAG?

We’re so excited that you’re interested in being a part of the radio station! You can find the DJ Application form here. From there, a board member will contact you to begin training, and upon completion of training, you can have your very own radio show! Both students and community members are welcome to become DJs. The time commitment is a minimum of 1 hour per week. There are also occasional volunteer opportunities throughout the year that are shared with DJs and on social media.

Who runs WUAG? Are there any job openings?

WUAG is run by five part-time student employees with the help of a faculty advisor and a student group advisor. Visit our contact us page to see what positions there are. Additionally, we have approximately 40-60 DJs on air and involved with the station each semester. Job openings are limited and will be shared with DJs as they arise. Paid employment at WUAG requires current UNCG student status and at least six months of DJ experience.

How do I get to WUAG and where do I park?

WUAG is located on the third floor of the Brown Building on UNCG’s campus at 402 Tate St, Greensboro, NC, 27412. The Brown Building is right beside the Carmichael (Media Studies) building and across the street from establishments like Tate Street Coffee House, Slices, and Jimmy John’s. There are limited parking spaces in front of the Tate Street shops as well as limited street parking on Tate, Walker, Springdale, and Spring Garden.

How can I send music to the station?

Please use the music submission form to share your music with us. Please ensure that your audio file permissions are shareable so we can access the file. Please do not upload YouTube, SoundCloud, or Spotify links, as we cannot download those. Please also inspect your song(s) for potential FCC violations and note them accordingly in the form. Questions regarding music submissions can be directed to the Music + Productions Director.

Can you advertise my event/club/organization/etc. on air?

Due to the non-commercial nature of the radio station, we are unable to create and air advertisements. However, we do offer Public Service Announcements. PSAs are short messages either written down or recorded and sent to radio stations. These are unpaid, free announcements serving the public interest. If you would like to request a PSA, please fill out this form.

Can you interview my band on-air? Can my band play live at WUAG?

We have a weekly live performance and interview each Sunday at 7PM called Radio Greensboro. It’s like our version of NPR’s Tiny Desk series. If you or someone you know is interested, have them reach out to the Music + Productions Director for more information. If you submit music to the station, you can also note your interest in Radio Greensboro via that form.

How can I stay connected with WUAG?

You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. You can watch Radio Greensboro footage and more on our YouTube channel here. Most importantly, our Discord server is the best way to stay up-to-date and connected with everyone at WUAG. Joining Discord is a requirement for volunteers and DJs.
